Better Buying Institute joins Sustainable Apparel Coalition as Affiliate Member

The Better Buying Institute is pleased to announce that we have joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition as an Affiliate Member.

Better BuyingTM allows suppliers in global supply chains to anonymously rate the purchasing practices of the companies that buy their products so that brands and retailers who are looking to improve their purchasing practices know where they need to improve.

The institute’s tools and resources, which include its flagship Better Buying Purchasing Practices IndexTM, shorter Better Buying Partnership IndexTM and 5 Principles of Responsible PurchasingTM framework, provide a fully integrated business solution for brands and retailers looking to get 360 degree feedback on how their purchasing practices are impacting on suppliers in their supply chain.

A number of the growing number of global apparel brands that subscribe to Better BuyingTM, collecting supplier data and insights via its unique survey platform, are also members of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, and the two organizations share a focus on measuring progress and impact, and driving transparency on the part of global brands and retailers.

Dr. Marsha Dickson, President and Co-Founder of Better Buying Institute, comments: ‘Better BuyingTM looks forward to being an active member of SAC, elevating supplier voice, and driving awareness among SAC members of the value of supplier data in driving industry-wide transformation in relation to purchasing practices.”

Dr. Marsha Dickson participated in an expert panel at the SAC’s Annual Member Meeting on November 2nd, exploring diverse approaches to achieving responsible purchasing practices between brands and manufacturers.
